The Rightaway service is aimed at anyone who needs to receive their orders as soon as they are placed and their, enquiries and emails soon as they are sent. As well as the ability to respond quickly to customer's requests, Rightaway provides a number of other benefits as an email user which are not available from any other Internet Service Provider (ISP):
The Intelligent Agent The Intelligent Agent is different from other Web or email services because it applies intelligence to the processing of email messages before you receive them. The processing of each incoming email message is controlled by an intelligent agent that is able to make decisions based upon certain attributes of the message. The decisions made by the agent determine how the message will be sent to you and whether you will receive some form of alert that a message has arrived. In addition, messages can be automatically replied to or can be discarded. The agent is able to take different action depending upon the day of the week, the time of day or even a particular date or range of dates when a message is received. The agent is able to check a number of attributes of an incoming message including:
Depending
on the result of the above checks, the agent can deliver the message
by one or more of the following methods:
To
ensure that the agent handles messages to suit your working pattern,
combinations of all the above checks and delivery options can be set
to apply at different times and dates:
The Auto-Responder In addition to the processing of incoming messages described above, the agent is also able to perform the function of an email auto-responder. You are able to allocate any desired number of email addresses. Some of these addresses might be used as normal email addresses for different people within your organisation; others might be assigned as auto-responder addresses. For each auto-responder address, you provide an associated response message of any desired length. When the agent receives a message for an auto-responder address, it automatically sends a reply email to the sender containing the associated response text. This facility may be used to provide information on demand allowing automatic dissemination of information sheets, product details etc. You can use also use this feature to automatically send a custom acknowledgement message if emails arrive while you are on holiday or away from the office. If you need to send information to multiple people from time to time, you are able to set up databases of addresses on the Message Centre computer and use those databases to automatically send emails to all addresses in a chosen database. This should, of course, be done with the agreement of those on the lists, and should not be used for sending unsolicited email shots. FaxDirect The Fax Gateway FaxDirect is a feature of the Rightaway service that allows messages to be sent to any UK fax number. Each fax machine in the country has a unique Internet email address comprising the domain name 'fax.maildirect.com' prefixed by the fax number. For example, a message can be sent to the fax number 020 8398 8443 by using its email address '02083988443@fax.maildirect.com'. Software Requirements There are no requirements to receive orders, enquiries or e-mails from Rightaway other than a fax machine or mobile phone. Rightaway also has an industry-standard POP3/SMTP server permanently connected to the Internet. If you use this method of sending and receiving emails, you must also have an account with an Internet Service Provider; there are now many Internet Service Providers offering completely free access that work well with the Rightaway server |
